Why cornichons?

Steph’s Gourmet Foods offers you a fine selection of very unique products online, handcrafted straight from local Australian producers as well as artisan French products.

I have created a  “Une Epicerie Fine” Delicatessen or deli online and bring to you an array of products that you can purchase online and have delivered to your home or office or pick up at various Farmers Markets in Sydney and Newcastle.


No cheese or charcuterie plate is complete without Cornichons. These Cornichons are nubby and bumpy, tart and crunchy.  

Why Cornichon's?

The “ploughman’s lunch,” a meal of cheese, bread, and pickle, was an invention of the postwar British government, a successful attempt to get folks to eat more cheese after the end of rationing. The combination is now a classic pairing, as savory cheddar served with a sweet-and-salty pickle is extremely satisfying.
